The following links and descriptions are intended to provide potential and current UNH students and families with information on sources of financial aid. The UNH Financial Aid Office provides this information purely as an informational service. A listing does not necessarily constitute an endorsement of an organization, service, or product. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Guide to Federal Student Aid from the U.S. Department of
Education. If you prefer the paper version of the 2006-2007 Student Guide, it is
now available in the UNH Financial Aid Office. Or, to request one by mail, call
the Federal Student Aid Information Center at 1-800-433-3243 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Alumni Scholarship ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- The NH Higher Education Assistance Foundation (NHHEAF) is a source for student loans, acting as guarantor for the Federal Family Education Loan Program (Guaranteed Student Loan Program). NHHEAF also provides individual guidance throughout the financial aid process, outreach to New Hampshire high schools, businesses and community organizations with speakers, information and reference materials, extensive career exploration information, and access to over 2,500 national public and private scholarship sources with a personal profile. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Project C.A.S.H (Creating a Savings Habit) is a money management/financial literacy program out of Health Services. This program provides workshops, fact sheets, interactive money games, and one-on-one assistance with a staff member or Peer Educator. The website answers questions about loan consolidation, credit, savings and investing, and more. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Consolidation Loan Guide Mapping Your Future's (MYF) new Federal Consolidation Loan guide now is
available on the MYF site. The guide contains neutral information about
Consolidation Loans, allowing borrowers to consider the pros and cons of
consolidating. Prospective and current borrowers can read content page-by-page, download a
print-friendly guide, or select from a variety of topics and resources: MYF includes links to the guide from various pages, but most prominently from
the site menu on the left side of the 10
Steps to Financial Fitness. The Consolidation Loan guide is a project of the MYF default prevention team. If you have questions about this or other default prevention and financial literacy features, contact CariAnne Behr at This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it or (573) 634-8641. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Free Credit Reports As mandated by the federal government in 2003, consumers are eligible to receive one free credit report a year from each of the “Big Three” credit bureaus: Experian, TransUnion and Equifax (EFX). The only place these free credits reports are available is at AnnualCreditReport.com. Don’t be misled by other sites that may offer a free credit report. They often do so only if you sign up for another service, such as credit monitoring, that you must pay for. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Financial Aid for Students with Disabilities On this page, you'll find information about scholarships and fellowships for students with disabilities. Be sure to browse the rest of the site also, since some of the more general listings and scholarship databases may contain information relevant to students with disabilities. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- LGBTQ+ STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS The Point Foundation, The National LGBT Scholarship Fund Many funding sources are earmarked for applicants who have had their families withdraw financial support after they came out or were outed. If you are a student facing these circumstances, please speak with a UNH Financial Aid counselor. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
